A day in the life of...
I started in May 2024 as a Client Manager for EDGE, part of CIRU. Having not come from a clinical research background, it was a little bit of a daunting prospect to enter an industry I wasn’t familiar with, but what I do bring is a unique set of skills (much like Liam Neeson in the film ‘Taken’!)
Since 2005 I dedicated my career to public service and spent 15 years as a youth worker, 3 years in children’s social services, and 6 years in the further education sector. This has allowed me to bring a very diverse skill base to explore how we can improve support and training materials for users of the EDGE system.
My day-to-day work is richly varied but usually involves starting my day checking our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for EDGE to clear any queries that may have been sent overnight. I will continue to intermittently check the CRM throughout the day alongside my fellow Client Managers. Outside of this, I work on special projects, which currently involves developing training matrices, planning bitesize KnowledgeBase videos, and improving our CRM processes. My next major project to implement is the new training matrix and move from planning to creating a library of tutorial videos for EDGE to support our users.
